Is Surrogate Parenting Center Of Texas Out Of Business?

For the past couple of weeks I have been attempting to collect past due compensation owed to an egg donor that worked with Surrogate Parenting Center of Texas. Yesterday I received an auto-response from their email server that said “SPCT will be closed Thursday, September 23, 2010 for staff development.” Today, their phones are not working.

If anyone has any information on this agency, please email me. If you are a Surrogate, Egg Donor, Intended or Recipient Parent, you might want to contact your attorney to ensure that you and your funds are protected. Hopefully this is nothing more then technical glitches on their end. However, given their recent communications and refusal to honor their agreement with their egg donor, I have a sinking feeling. Forewarned is forearmed.

Update: 9/24/10 @ 12:15 p.m – The phone lines are now working though the calls go directly into voicemail. Our advice still stands. If you are a Surrogate, Egg Donor, Intended or Recipient Parent working with this agency, we recommend you contact your attorney immediately to ensure you are protected.
