A Georgia Democrat is proposing a bill that seeks to prevent vasectomies that leaves thousands of children deprived of birth in response to legislation prohibiting all abortions after 20 weeks.   The bill reads in part:

Thousands of children are deprived of birth in this state every year because of the lack of state regulation over vasectomies. It is patently unfair that men can avoid unwanted fatherhood by presuming that their judgment over such matters is more valid than the judgment of the General Assembly, while women’s ability to decide is constantly up for debate throughout the United States.

I think the recent tactic by Democrats nationally to fight Republican extremism with satire is nothing short of brilliant.  Earlier, a Virginia Democrat tried to attach an amendment to anti-abortion legislation mandating that men must undergo rectal and heart exams before receiving viagra.  More on the anti-vasectomy legislation can be found here.
