The Virginia Senate has just approved a bill that will require any woman undergoing an abortion to have an abdominal ultrasound. The earlier version of the bill would have required a transvaginal ultrasound. Republican Governor and abortion opponent, Robert F. McDonnell, has indicated he intends to sign this legislation.
