Your help is needed to fight measures proposed in North Dakota that would not only consider an embryo a person and deny abortions to rape victims, but effectively bring an end to IVF treatment in North Dakota. According to The North Dakota Coalition for Privacy in Health Care:
Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 4009: would add a new section to the North Dakota Constitution that says, “The inalienable right to life of every human being at any stage of development must be recognized and defended.” (Full Text)
Senate Bill (SB) 2303: a bill relating to the definition of a human being and the application to certain medical procedures. (Full Text)
Senate Bill (SB) 2302: bans any birth control that “can be clinically proven to kill a person” and directs the state department of health to provide a list of birth control products along with their clinically proven affects upon women and “preborn human beings at every stage of development.” Limits the number of in vitro human embryos created in a single cycle to the number to be transferred in that cycle. Bans all abortion except to save the life of the pregnant woman and specifically says there are no exceptions for rape victims. (Full Text)
