Yuval and Liran are a gay couple living in Israel. In Israel, gay couples are not allowed to adopt children. The LGBTQ website A Wider Bridge comments on a viral video that Yuval and his partner posted to Youtube in order to raise awareness about this injustice and to help the couple raise money in order to help them have a child:

Yuval, whose post about surrogacy in Israel was published on A Wider Bridge’s website last month, and his partner Liran, have gone to great lengths, with no success, to start a family. Now they are taking it to YouTube with [sic] passionate, pleading video, trying to raise money for another surrogacy attempt.

The couple has started a fundraising campaign via Mimoona, an Israeli version of Kickstarter, to raise the money they need for a child, and if they won’t be able to reach to the required amount (NIS250k), they promise to use the money for a campaign to bring equal rights in Israel. Most crowd sourcing campaigns offer rewards to contributors. Yuval and Liran can only express their appreciation for a gift too many people take for granted. “We can only say thank you. Thank you! You bring us closer to being a family.”

So far (according to publishing time of this article) they have raised more than NIS38,000. You can help by contribute from NIS20 ($5.2) to NIS5000 ($1350).

They tell their story in cards because it’s “too hard for us to say it out loud.” (YouTube has an option that translates to English.) They’ve been together 12 years, were married seven years ago, despite it not being legal in Israel, and are desperate to start a family. There was an unsuccessful adoption attempt in Guatemala, which was just the beginning of their heartbreak:
