Just weeks after the Munoz story came to a tragic end, another case has emerged of a brain-dead pregnant woman in hospital. The case of Robyn Benson, who is from British Columbia, is distinguishable from the Munoz case, in that it was acknowledged, albeit quite late in the proceedings, that the fetus in the Munoz was not viable and it was the family’s wish for the life support to be removed.

The woman’s husband and doctors are hoping she can be kept on life support for a further 5 weeks, when doctors would be able to perform a c-section at 34 weeks gestation.
